2020 Fantasy Football Lessons Learned - RB

Good Morning FantasyHolics!

It's Day 5 of our Lessons Learned. Today's lesson is on RB.

This year you drafted 14 RBs in the first 24 picks. thanks to some brutal injuries (Saqoun Barkley and Christian McCaffrey) only 5 of those 14 finished in the Top 12 and 1 of the other 8 finished in the Top 16. The 6 that fell off, fell off due to injury and/or under performing offenses. You drafted Zeke at 3 overall and he still came in a 9 but very under-whelming. You also drafted one rookie (Clyde Edwards-Helaire) as the 7th RB off the board but he finished as the 22nd RB. The injuries and under performances opened the door for 2 rookies (Jonathan Taylor and James Robinson) to enter the Top 12 and we finally seen what David Montgomery could do.

We have a strong crop of 2nd year RBs that made a difference in 2020 and they are going to continue to get better, but RB is always a very volatile position and it feels like if you don't get into the RB game early and often, you will be scrambling on the waiver wire for some scraps.

This chart shows the ADP (Average Draft Position) of the Top 12 RBs. It then shows you where each RB finished the 2020 season based on Total PPR Points scored. In parenthesis it shows you that players ADP compared to where they finished so that you see that comparison. Lastly, it also shows Average Points Scored Per Game.

Get in the RB business early and often!
