Andy Dalton inks new sponsorship deal.
Arlington, TX—New Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton has already started to see the benefits of joining America’s Team.
Through a spokesperson on Wednesday, Frito-Lay announced a three year deal with the signal-caller. “I’m just excited to be part of the Frito-Lay family”, said Dalton. “I really align with their strategy”.
During the Wednesday presser, Chris Yemma, Frito-Lay North America’s director of brand communications, said the company was super excited to sign Dalton.
"We were all very excited and saw this as an opportunity," said Yemma. "It’s great to have influential people out there starting conversations about our brands. We always work to find ways to join the conversation right away, but in an authentic manner.” Yemma went on to say, “No offense to the Cincinnati market or the Bengals. We’ve been targeting Dalton for years. Now that he’s a Cowboy with the exposure it brings, we simply had to move.”
When asked by reporters on any specific plans, Yemma stated, “obviously the Cheetos brand, specifically the Flaming Hot Cheetos, will be the core of marketing. We’ll start there and see how it goes.”
Reports state the deal is worth upwards of $500,000 annually and a lifetime supply of Cheetos, as long as Dalton makes some public appearances and represents the brand during any press conference.
