CastleBlacks Waiver Wire
What is up Fantasyholics and happy waiver wire Tuesday. I started my day by getting 6 teeth extracted including multiple wisdom. Do not recommend because it is a 0/10 on the fun scale. Nevertheless, waiver pickups wait for no man nor his oral surgeries so let's talk some free agent pickups.
I purposely waited for the trade deadline to pass to do my article. I could have done it earlier as it turns out because nothing major happened. A few Covid issues have boosted and hurt a few players for this week’s games. Andy Dalton has been put on the Covid list so we are looking at at least one more Ben Dinucci start. You have no choice but to downgrade your Cowboys skill players. Dallas plays The Steelers this week so pay up for the Pitt defense and say your prayers for young Mr. Dinucci.
Jamaal Williams has also been put on the Covid list joining fellow RB AJ Dillon. Aaron Jones could be ready in 2 days for TNF vs the 49ers but is not a lock. Jones would be replaced by Tyler Ervin(also on the injury report as questionable) and fresh from the practice squad Dexter Williams. Both would have some low flex value if Jones can’t go. I am not suggesting to spend big on them but if you are in a pinch they could be a one week stop gap.
Jonathan Taylor is dealing with an ankle injury and has been looking very pedestrian. Jordan Wikins stepped in for 89 yards on 20 carries and a score. Nyheim Hines also went for 2 scores on 8 touches. Full disclosure I have Taylor in multiple leagues including my League of Record and I legit don’t know what to do. You can’t trade him so he is a hold for me. Wilkins is certainly decent add this week but if Taylor is healthy it will probably be more of a split. Oh yes and the Colts play the Ravens this week so I’m not playing either unless I have no good pivot options.
Kenny Golladay left early with a hip injury and is looking doubtful for this week. All of the other Lions options get a boost for week 9 in a choice matchup at Minnesota. The most devastating injury of the week goes to George Kittle and to a lesser degree, all of his fantasy managers. One less set and forget tight end so the waiver wire at the TE position is basically the UFC octagon at this point. Jordan Reed, Ross Dwelley, welcome to the carousel.
Here are my top targets for week 9
Good luck Holics, see you next week.
