FantasyHolics Waiver Wire

Welcome back to the wire Fantasyholics. I do not know if all of your leagues are going like mine in 2020, but they are all super competitive with only 2-3 teams out of playoff contention. Unless you are one of the teams with 1-2 losses, you are probably needing another win or two to secure a playoff spot. If you are in that mode and you have any shot to make the playoffs, you gotta sell out and do anything and everything to get into the fantasy post season. Just like the actual NFL, anything can and does happen in the playoffs. It is time to cut the dead weight on your rosters, Hollywood Brown cough cough. All Hollywood jokes aside, he is a perfect example of someone you need to drop for a defense with a great playoff schedule. I get it, he is the WR1 on his team, all the platforms keep projecting him for 11-13 points per game. He is super fast blah blah blah. Dude dropped a zero burger Sunday. There are plenty of players in that boat. Jordan Wilkins and Devonta Freeman also jump to mind. Every spot on your roster needs to be someone that you could start this week if you needed to or a team defense with a great playoff schedule. If you are streaming Tight End or QB you should look to secure a pair of each and play the matchups.

Let’s take a look at some week 12 help.

This week the news broke the JK Dobbins and Mark Ingram both tested positive for the Rona. Gus Edwards at least for one week becomes a bell cow and should absolutely be rostered. Bad matchup vs. Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving night but he's just about a lock for 15 plus opportunities. Hard to say if there is value past this week but there aren’t too many high volume RBs on waivers this late in the season so grab him and use him if you need to. For rest of season JK Dobbins is also worth an add. Baltimore finally gave him a work horse role and he looked really good. Rex Burhead is done for the year which makes James White my top add this week. He immediately showed his pass catching talents last week and looks like he can potentially be a low end RB2 or flex in PPR. Guys like Mattison and Pollard are worth a stash if you have a bigger bench. Carlos Hyde Brian Hill Cam Akers and Tevin Coleman can also get put into that category to a lesser extent.

At WR my last week’s co add of the week Michael Pittman Jr. had another big game and should be rostered. Deebo Samuel is coming back from injury and should instantly become the top pass catching option for the 49ers. Tim Patrick is the most productive pass catching option on the Broncos and it is not that close. I know he isn't Jerry Jeudy with the big name and high draft capital but Patrick is out playing him every week. Grab him. Breshad Perriman has looked pretty good with Flacco so you can roll those dice if you need a WR. Sammy Watkins is coming back and should line up opposite Tyreek Hill on most snaps. He is boom or bust but his boom weeks have been legendary.

If you are streaming QB or TE and still in playoff contention, well done sir or ma’am. I won't sugar coat it, the waiver is a dark and scary place by this time of the year. One bright spot I have seen available in lots of leagues is Dalton Schultz. Since week 2 despite all the QB fluctuation, he is averaging over 6 targets a week. Daniel Jones has a nice ROS schedule and usually gives you a decent floor with his rushing yards. Kirk Cousins is pretty available and has played well. Monitor Adam Thielen though. I wouldn't play Cousins w/o Thielen. Jimmy Graham is out there due to having a zero point game before his bye. He is still TE 11 on the season so you could do worse. I hope I can be some help for your playoff push. Now get your claims in and good luck this week.
