Miami Marlins find silver lining after multiple players test positive for coronavirus.
News broke early Monday afternoon that the Miami Marlins found themselves in the midst of a Covid-19 outbreak. At least a dozen players and personnel tested positive, bringing their season, and possibly others, to a standstill.
However, the Marlins players seemed to be upbeat about the situation. As the realization began to set in that the Marlins were in sole possession of first place, a strategy has emerged. Reports coming out of Miami state that instead of “risking more players' health and well-being”, they would not be raiding their farm system or signing temporary players to fill the void. Instead, the Marlins intend to stay on hiatus, holding on to first place for as long as possible.
