Monday Night Preview
Monday Night Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
PIT -14, O/U 40
*Rankings below are the FantasyHolic’s staff expert weekly ranks
-Ben Roethlisberger (QB #12)- Has been a high volume passer all year en route to 29 touchdowns. Cincy D is nothing to fear but they won’t be chasing points either so this could be a ho-hum final stat line.
-Ryan Finley (outside our top 20)- A hilariously bad player going against the league’s best defense. There were 31 (or more) better options to play over him.
-James Conner (RB #30)- Despite his disastrous lost season the Bengals giving up the 5th most rushing yards is appealing. Could see 20+ touches in a blowout. Make sure he’s active, however.
-Benny Snell (outside our top 40)- Has been poor at best when called upon but still punched in 3 cheap scores this year. Garbage time touches are very possible.
-Gio Bernard (outside our top 40)- 5 straight games with less than 10 PPR points, fumbled last week and the Steelers are giving up the fewest opposing RB points. Big yikes across the board.
-Trayveon Williams (outside our top 40)- Led the team with 12 carries last week. Might be “the guy” this week because at this point in their season why not?
-Samaje Perine (outside our top 40)- A plodder coming off of 10 mostly empty carries. Avoiding this backfield is the best overall game plan.
-Deonte Johnson (WR #20)- Coming off a brutal game with drops and some time spent on the bench but the targets are hard to ignore. Last week’s 7 targets were his fewest since Week 8.
-Juju Smith-Schuster (WR #23)- Steadily leads the team with 79 catches (10 more than anyone else). His low yards per catch are made up for with 7 TDs.
-Chase Claypool (WR #30)- Still leads the squad with 10 total scores but has seen his usage scaled back some as well. Has hit paydirt in 3 weeks.
-Tyler Boyd (WR #36)- An ugly game where he could take advantage of being Finley’s short area safety blanket. Someone needs to take advantage of chasing points.
-Tee Higgins (outside our top 40)- Has struggled like the whole offense has without Burrow but back to back 8 target games. Is a useful WR4/flex option.
-AJ Green (outside our top 40)- Past 4 games: TD, zero catches, zero catches, TD. Good luck.
-James Washington (outside our top 40)- Back to back games with a score but on only 10 combined targets. Unfortunately it won’t be a shootout.
-Eric Ebron (TE #7)- Cincy giving up the 4th most TE fantasy points. He’s been hot while the running game has been so stale.
-Drew Sample (outside our top 24)- Has 48 targets but zero TDs and faces the 2nd best defense against TEs. Far from fantasy playoffs material.
