Monday Night Preview

Monday Night Preview:

Atlanta Falcons @ Green Bay Packers

Vegas Odds: Packers -7, O/U 57

The shootout for all the glory and all the points starts here. Aaron Discount Double

Check Rodgers checks in as our FantasyHolic’s #7 QB for this week, while Matt Ryan (I would say Matty Ice but he and the team in general has already melted with the game on the line week after week this season) is our #9 QB. A Rod has a ridiculous 9:0 TD to INT ratio, while Ryan has a respectable 7:2. Both have a banged up WR group to overcome but remain firmly in QB1 territory. Fire away with confidence.

Running Backs:

What a run Aaron Jones has been on. Those of you (unfortunately not me included) that took a chance on him in the 2nd round should have a winning record or straight up be undefeated. He’s second in PPR points at his position so far this season behind only Alvin Kamara. We have him ranked #2 this week as well. For the Dirty Birds Todd Gurley has looked like a shell of his former self most of the year, however he finally had a solid game last week (80 rushing yards and a TD) and will look to keep the momentum going. He is our #25 RB this week, but I won’t be shocked if he has a nice final stat line against a GB run D that’s giving up the 3rd most fantasy points to backs. Any combination of either team’s back up RBs would not be recommend to play. In a pinch Brian Hill and Jamaal Williams would be the order of any desperation plays.

Wide Receivers:

We’ve got ourselves a bevy of injures talent that may or may not play tonight. Top picks Davante Adams, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley are all listed as questionable. I will live and die by the saying that you don’t sit your studs, so if you’ve waited it out and your guy is active you’ve got to let these peacocks fly. Even with Julio’s struggles you gotta let him do his thing and get a rhythm going. These beasts have too high of ceilings to run from. Outside of these stars you’ve got Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Russell Gage as intriguing WR3/flex plays. Gage has been more productive so far but I’m anticipating MVS to break out very soon. With Adams coming back to loosen up his teammate’s coverages and Allen Lazard missing time it is a matter of if not when the big plays strike for him. Look for him to be a more consistent weekly contributor during Lazard’s absence. We will have to see if any other Packers become relevant after kickoff.

Tight Ends:

Hayden Hurst has been up and down so far as a Falcon, but he has a decent role carved out that will eventually became more consistent stat wise. We have him ranked at consensus #11. Big Bob Tonyan is coming off of 50 yards and a TD last week for the Pack, and you could definitely do worse at the position. I don’t love him yet given Rodgers’ history of ignoring his TE, but without a healthy wideout group he may not have a choice but to lean on the position more often. Leave the backups in this game far away from your starting lineups.
