Monday Night Reaction
Monday Night Reaction – Cardinals/Cowboys
In the second game of the Monday Night doubleheader, the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) hosted the Arizona Cardinals (3-2). The Cowboys, led by veteran backup Andy Dalton, looked to try and salvage their season. But things went south quickly, and the Cowboys never recovered. The Cowboys turned the ball over 4 times, and the Arizona Cardinals ran ALL over Dallas, and the Cowboys depleted offense had no answer, leading to a 38-10 thrashing on Monday Night Football.
Kenyan Drake (ARI) – 20 carries, 164 yards, 2 TD. FINALLY! A Kenyan Drake sighting!!! This was the breakout game fantasy owners have been longing for. Hopefully owners still had him in their lineups.
Christian Kirk (ARI) – 2 Receptions, 86 yards, 2 TD. Kirk didn’t get many looks this game, but certainly made them count.
Kyler Murray (ARI) – 9-24, 188 yards, 2 TD, 10 Carries, 74 yards, 1 TD. Murray showed once again, that he is one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the league. When things weren’t available through the air, he extends and makes big plays with his legs.
Amari Cooper (DAL) – 7 Receptions, 79 yards, TD. Cooper was targeted plenty in this game, and produced good numbers for fantasy owners. Cooper continues to have a very good season. He is a MUST start.
CeeDee Lamb (DAL) – 7 Receptions, 64 yards. Lamb had a quiet, but productive night. He should see an uptick in targets in the near future, as Cooper will require more double teams.
DeAndre Hopkins (ARI) – 2 Receptions, 73 yards. Murray and Hopkins just couldn’t hook up. Murray didn’t have the most productive day through the air, so the Cardinals needed to move the ball on the ground. Nuke Hopkins will see his share of targets in every game. No worries here.
Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) – 12 carries, 49 yards. 8 Receptions, 31 yards. In PPR leagues, Zeke may have gotten you a decent total. But Standard scoring leagues and real life, he was a big DUD. Zeke was bottled up ALL game long, not able to produce much of anything, even fumbling TWICE. If Cowboys OL Zack Martin is expected to miss any significant time, fantasy owners should be cautious, as more games like this may lie ahead.
Andy Dalton (DAL) – 34-54, 266 yards, TD, 2 INT. Fantasy owners hoping Dalton could rejuvenate this Cowboys offense and produce as a Bye week fill in, were SORELY mistaken.
