Monday Night Reaction
Week 11 Monday Night Reaction - #PrimeTime Royalty
The Monday Night matchup in week 11 featured two high powered offenses, and also 2 very tough run defenses. The Los Angeles Rams (6-3) hit the road to face the Tampa Bucs (7-3) in an exciting NFC matchup. The Rams came into the game averaging 397 offensive yards per game, 5th in the NFL. They now face the Bucs 2nd best rush defense in the NFL, who only allow 76 rushing yards per game.
This game was filled with big plays, on both sides of the ball, making for a very interesting matchup. Neither team was able to get ANTHING going on the ground, and had to look to the passing game for production. Despite two interceptions, Jared Goff was able to lead the Los Angeles Rams to victory, with the help of Rams rookie safety Jordan Fuller, able to pull in two interceptions of his own. With the win, the Rams are now in control of the NFC West.
Jared Goff (LAR) – 39/51, 376 passing yards, 3 TD, 2 INT. Aside from the interceptions, Goff had a very good game. He proved he could perform in Primetime and should be trusted as a lower tier QB1 from here on out.
Cooper Kupp (LAR) – 11 Receptions, 145 yards. Goff looked to his favorite target early and often, and Kupp produced, giving owners a HUGE game.
Robert Woods (LAR) – 12 Receptions, 130 yards, TD. Woods had the breakout game that owners had been pining for. After a very depressing outing last week, Woods TOTALLY redeeming himself.
Antonio Brown (TB) – 8 Receptions, 57 yards. Brown led all TB receivers with 13 targets. Could be waiver add of the year if this work continues!
Chris Godwin (TB) – 7 Receptions, 53 yards, TD. Another solid outing for Godwin in this solid offense.
Mike Evans (TB) – 5 Receptions, 49 yards, TD. Evans had tough assignment in this matchup, working on a VERY solid Rams secondary, but the TD helped give fantasy owners their points.
The LA Rams Backfield (M. Brown, D Henderson, C. Akers) – TOTALED 16 carries for 32 rushing yards! With the exception of a late receiving TD by Akers, this group was completely shut down.
TB Bucs Backfield (R. Jones II, L. Fournette) – Totaling 17 carries, 41 rushing yards, TD; The Rams kept the Bucs backfield quiet all night, with the exception of a goal line TD by Fournette.
Rob Gronkowski (TB) – 2 receptions, 25 yards. Gronk was simply just the odd man out all night. All other TB receivers got their work, except him. Unfortunately, that may be how it goes all year. Owners of TB receivers, will have to roll the dice, hoping their guy gets a healthy target share every week. Simply not enough targets to go around.
Tom Brady (TB) - 26/48, 216 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT. The two interceptions certainly didn’t help, but when you throw the ball 48 times in a game to a group of receivers this good, you DEFINITLEY expect much more yardage.
