Most Consistent QB the past three years

Who has been the most consistent QBs over the last three seasons?

When talking consistentency, I’m going deeper than who plays 16 games. A lot of QBs play 16 games, Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, Dew Brees, Phillip Rivers and Kirk Cousins bring a lunch pail and show up every Sunday. I am going to look at which QBs have finished in the Top 12 as a QB1 over the past three years. I’ll look at total fantasy points scored, and points per game. I’m going to find you those QBs that you can get and count on to provide you stabilty on your Fantasy Roster.

The last three seasons the two most consistent QBs were Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott. They finished Top 12 in Fantasy Points Per Season and Points Per Game, they also played the most games. A lot of QBs were QB1s in two years but not 3 (Brees, Ryan, Brady, Rivers, Rodgers, Wentz, Goff, Ben and Newton). Obviously this exercise doesn’t include Pat Mahomes because he only started one game in 2017, I think it’s safe to say that in 2020 he will make this list.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson finished QB1, QB9, and QB4 from 2017-2019. He averaged 326.64 Fantasy Points Per Season and 20.41 Points Per Game. He scored over 20 PPG on 50% of his games during this time period. Because of Wilson’s ability to run the ball more, he is going to give you a higher fantasy floor and those rushing yards will give him a few more points every week. Wilson is very consistent for a QB with a current ADP of 5th QB and 57th player overall. He is a lock to start all 16 games and is one of the safest QBs in fantasy. You could draft all RBs and WRs in the first 4 rounds and draft Russell Wilson in round 5.

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott provides similar QB consistency to Russell Wilson. He finished QB11, QB10 and QB2 from 2017-2019. He averaged 298.45 Fantasy Points Per Season and 18.65 Fantasy Points Per Game. He has scored over 20 PPG in almost 50% of his games. The biggest difference between him and Russell is Russell’s tendency to run the ball more. Dak has little to no injury history and like Russell, you can bank on him for 16 games. Dak’s current ADP is the 3rd QB overall but he isn’t going until the 5th round. Again you can wait on Dak after grabbing your RBs/WRs.

Obviously anything can happen and some of the young QBs in the league will start showing their consistency but for the money, Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott have been there for you and should be again. Drafting them in the 5th round will give you the balance on your team and the consistency to not let you down.
