NFC South NFL Draft Breakdowns

NFC South Draft Breakdowns

Atlanta Falcons:

Pick #4- Florida TE Kyle Pitts

Pick #40- UCF S Richie Grant

Pick #68- Michigan G Jalen Mayfield

Pick #108- San Diego State CB Darren Hall

Pick #114- Stanford C Drew Dalman

Pick #148- Texas DL Ta’Quon Graham

Pick #182- Notre Dame DE Adetokunbo Ogundeji

Pick #183- Boise State CB Avery Williams

Pick #187- Arizona State WR Frank Darby

Fantasy Impacts:

Pitts huge boost to this team right now and for years to come. He dominated the SEC and is going to an offense with several weapons in place and a new head coach/play caller that previously coached his position. Mayfield and Dalman will provide immediate depth and both push for starting time soon as this year. This line struggled throughout 2020. Darby is a deep threat for a team with not many playmakers beyond the starting lineup.

Carolina Panthers:

Pick #8- South Carolina CB Jaycee Horn

Pick #59- LSU WR Terrace Marshall Jr

Pick #70- BYU OT Brady Christensen

Pick #83- Notre Dame TE Tommy Tremble

Pick #126- Oklahoma State RB Chuba Hubbard

Pick #158- Iowa DT Daviyon Nixon

Pick #166- Washington CB Keith Taylor

Pick #193- Alabama G Deonte Brown

Pick #204- South Carolina WR Shi Smith

Pick #222- Alabama LS Thomas Fletcher

Pick #232- Kentucky DT Phil Hoskins

Fantasy Impacts:

Marshall Jr played 1 year under OC Joe Brady and should come in and immediately be the #3 WR. He was a TD scoring machine at LSU and is more talented (albeit injury prone) than his draft slot indicates. Christensen will push to start Week 1 and was a nice value. Tremble also could move up the depth chart quickly. Hubbard is the new Mike Davis and provides a legitimate handcuff to CMC. Brown played well in the SEC and looks like a great late round snag. Smith has a very good chance to make the team and has slot and special teams chops to make an impact down the road.

New Orleans Saints:

Pick #28- Houston DE Payton Turner

Pick #60- Ohio State LB Pete Werner

Pick #76- Stanford CB Paulson Abedo

Pick #133- Notre Dame QB Ian Book

Pick #206- Kentucky OT Landon Young

Pick #255- South Alabama WR Kawaan Baker

Fantasy Impacts:

Defense heavy start that led to 4th rounder Book as the first offensive pick. It felt early but if Sean Payton likes him that’s a great start. He holds a lot of Notre Dame records and will check many boxes aside from being short (5’11). 2022 will be his chance after Winston and Hill’s contracts are up. Young and Baker won’t be asked to play right away but provide depth on a team with few holes.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

Draft picks

Pick #32- Washington OLB Joe Tryon

Pick #64- Florida QB Kyle Trask

Pick #95- Notre Dame OT Robert Hainsey

Pick #129- North Texas WR Jaelon Darden

Pick #176- Auburn LB K.J. Britt

Pick #251- BYU CB Chris Wilcox

Pick #259- Houston LB Grant Stuard

Fantasy Impacts:

Trask is an interesting pick and certainly worth the risk for this team that will eventually have to move on from TB12. He’s a low floor option but definitely showed flashes of brilliance in college. Hainsey is a depth add that could definitely pay dividends in the future. They needed more bodies beyond the starters. Darden is undersized but can absolutely fly. He’s a fun player to watch and should develop learning from one of the best WR rooms in the league.
