Thursday Night Football
Thursday Night Football
Dolphins VS Jaguars
From a fantasy perspective there haven’t been very many games that disappoint more then this one. This game is the definition of don’t trust Thursday Night Football. With that said its really a game for two teams rebuilding. The porn star mustache vs the mainly beard.
The Jags are coming off a gutsy performance against the Titans lead by Gardner Minshew’s that they had no business keeping up in. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Minshew reminds me of a young Farve. Minshew has really been spreading the ball around targeting 10 different offensive players to include hitting eight of those targets for a reception. Rookie James Robinson has been a revelation in the backfield and it was unlikely he was even drafted in your fantasy leagues. Robinson is currently 8th in rushing in the league and still has no competition in the back field to challenge for any real carries. DJ Chark is questionable and will be a game decision. This likely would not effect Minshew’s production but could give a bump to another talented rookie Laviska Shenault Jr who they like moving all around the field and has even seen carries out of the backfield.
The Dolphins are a bit of a mess at this point. It is clear they are rebuilding but how long will they keep rolling with Ryan Fitzpatrick after using high draft capital on Tua. Most reports from the preseason and camp had Tua as not quite ready but with winning pedigree I think we see Tua sooner rather then later. The problem with Fitzpatrick is he loves to play from behind and that’s where he shines. It is also my belief that the Bills overlooked the Dolphins a bit and could have been more prepared. The backfield is a full blown running back by committee between Brieda, Howard and Gaskin not necessarily in that order. The hot hand will be rode though from a perspective of daily fantasy Brieda presents the best option due to low cost and home run threat capability. The WR core is intact with a talented group lead by Parker and Preston Williams. Isaiah Ford has also seen action in the group but Fitzpatrick’s inconsistent play has some wondering if they are a viable play week to week. Mike Gesicki has been a real bright spot for the Dolphins leading the team in catches and receiving yards from the tight end spot and likely the only player I’d trust from the Dolphins on Thursday night football.
Fantasy Impact Jaguars: Minshew, Robinson, Chark(if healthy) and Shenault
Fantasy Impact Dolphins: Gesicki, Parker, P Williams, Gaskin, Fitzpatrick
This is a game I don’t have a ton of faith in from the fantasy. That said I will be rolling with Robinson in most leagues with Gesicki and Chark being started along with Minshew if your desperate.
