Thursday Night Reaction

Thursday Night Reaction

This game took an ugly turn from the beginning with Jacksonville declaring DJ Chark out earlier in the day.  Gardner Minshew looked shook and out of place the entire game.  He was running for his life behind a bad offensive line.  The Dolphins took away his deep game and made him throw the ball or run it over the middle.  Minshew was rushed and he took 4 sacks.  Losing Chark made all the difference.

The Dolphins took a step forward. Ryan Fitzpatrick did what he does when he's playing well, took care of the football.  Didn't put up flashy numbers but didn't make mistakes.  They were able to run the ball with the workhorse back Myles Gaskin and the defense stepped up.

Fantasy Impact:

Myles Gaskin: 22 carries 66 yards; 5 rec 29 yards.

He can put up RB2 numbers and with the RB injuries piling up he's going to be someone you can count on as long as the Dolphins are running him out there. Just don't expect RB1 numbers if he doesn't get opportunities to score.

James Robinson: 11 carries 46 yards 2 TDs; 6 rec 83yds.

He is squarely leading this backfield and offense.  I thought this time of the year, we'd be talking about Ryquel Armstead, but Robinson is getting the job done and so far he's been a solid RB2 that you can plug in every week.

DeVante Parker: 5 rec 69 yards and Preston Williams: 2 rec 7 yards and TD.

The Dolphins didn't have to pass the ball too often and it showed with these numbers. As long as Parker is healthy and Fitz is the QB he has a WR3 floor. I don't think you can trust Williams yet

Keelan Cole: 4 rec 43 yards

He's the only WR to anything during this game. Without DJ Chark, this team had no long ball and all the throws we're short and over the middle

Mike Gesicki: 1 rec 15 yards 1 TD

Good thing he scored.  He's going to be involved but he's gameflow dependent.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and Gardner Minshew are nothing more than QB2s.  They will have moments and you should be able to stream them but don't look for 20 point games from them.
