Week 4 Monday Night Reaction

Week 4 Monday Night Reaction

When the schedules were first released, this game was hyped to be a shootout, between two high powered offenses within the NFC. However due to a multitude of injuries, only one team really put up the points.

The Green Bay Packers (3-0) went into this game without their top two receivers, DaVante Adams (hamstring) and Allan Lazard (core surgery), but managed just fine without their services. The Packers DOMINATED the winless Falcons at the line of scrimmage, and more injuries to an already depleted Falcons secondary, allowed Aaron Rodgers to orchestrate his offense to near perfection.

Fantasy STUDS

Aaron Rodgers (GB) – 27-33, 327 passing yds, 4 TD.  Rodgers dominated the Falcons, continuing his bid for MVP.

Aaron Jones (GB) – 111 scrimmage yds, 1 Rec TD. Jones was one of the focal points of the offense, and produced very well when needed, in both rushing and receiving games.

Robert Tonyan (GB) – 6 receptions, 98 yds, 3 TD. What a huge game for Tonyan. This superb showing, puts him at 13 receptions, 173 yds and 5 TD on the year. Definitely elevating him to TE 1 status.

Jamaal Williams (GB) – 105 scrimmage yds. Williams had a very nice night receiving, picking up 95 yards, also getting 8 carries. Williams may not get this much work in most games, but he definitely makes the most of his touches. Williams is a weekly FLEX consideration.

Todd Gurley II (ATL) – 16 carries, 57 yds, 2 TD.  Gurley would have made the Fantasy Bust list, if not for the 2 TD. Gurley continues to prove his worth, with his RedZone dominance.

Olamide Zaccheus (ATL) – 8 receptions / 86 yds. I don’t think anyone had this guy on their roster, but some may make room for him, after this showing.

Fantasy DUDS

Matt Ryan (ATL) – 28/39, 285 yards. Ryan and the Falcons offense couldn’t really get anything going through the air, with only limited success on the ground. Not awful numbers in real football, but in Fantasy, no TD = no points.

Julio Jones (ATL) – 4 rec/ 32 yds. Jones was having a decent day, before leaving right before halftime with the reaggravated hamstring injury.

Calvin Ridley (ATL) “ 0.0.. Ridley has NO grade point average”. With the run game not executing very well, and theinjury to Jones, Ridley was double teamed all night, and could not break free AT ALL, leaving fantasy owners with a big goose egg on their roster. Better days are ahead for Ridley.
